We provide comprehensive services relativ to drilling exploration wells for crude oil and natural gas extraction, underground gas storage facilities, hydro and geothermal wells, probe repairs, and other related activities.

Bentec 350 AC Drilling Rig – State-of-the-Art Technology

The Bentec 350 AC drilling rig is equipped with state-of-the-art technologies. The system meets all EU regulations, directives, and environmental requirements, including emission limits and ATEX certification. The maximum noise level is 80 dBA at a distance of one meter and no more than 50 dBA at a distance of 300 meters from the rig. The system is able to drill wells to maximum depths ranging between 4.5 to 5 kilometres. Detailed technical specifications are enclosed with this press release. Geothermal Wells

MND Drilling & Services a.s. offers assessment of the suitability of the earth structure for energy use through the drilling of geothermal wells, which determine the possibilities of obtaining hot water from various depths to be used for heating purposes in spa treatment, buildings, greenhouses, aqua parks, and swimming pools. Deep geothermal sources of the HDR type (hot dry rock) offer many other possibilities. Two wells can be used to obtain a higher amount of energy; the first well is used to inject water into a certain depth where it is heated by hot rock, and the other well serves for drawing the water back to the surface as a source of heat for various purposes, where geothermal energy is mainly used for producing electric power and heat. Projects of this type are a suitable application for MND Servisní and its Bentec 350 AC drilling rig.

Drilling Activities

MND Drilling & Services a.s. together with its predecessors has been occupying a significant position during the development of oil and gas industries in the Czech Republic. MND Servisni a.s and its predecessors have completed approximately 6,000 wells since starting their drilling activities at the territory of the former Czechoslovakia in 1919. MND Drilling & Services a.s. has been a full member of IADC – International Association of Drilling Contractors since 1999. During the last 5 years (2002–2006), we completed more than 35 directional wells and 8 horizontal wells. The deepest well accomplished by our own resources is the Jablunka-1 well, drilled to the depth of 6506 m in 1982. At the present time, our company owns 3 drilling rigs: National 1320-M, IDECO DIR-806 and IDECO BIR 7585. The machinery equipment of the drilling assemblies complies with API standard and with the regulation CBU no. 239/ 98 of the Code. The drilling rigs are operated by trained personnel with years of experience in drilling services. The personnel is also trained on regular basis for handling of emergency situations that might arise during their work.

Workovers

In last five years (2002 – 2006) MND Servisní a.s. completed 312 workovers, most of them for Moravské naftové doly, a.s. or other domestic customers:

The company owns 5 rigs to perform the workover operation: IDECO DIR-110, IDECO DIR-3007 (allowing to work with rotary table), two DIR 5505 rigs and one P-20 light rig. We have also the Dreco powerful hydraulic rotary table which can be used with any rig in case of more complicated operations.

Characteristics of workover

• Standard workover job – replacement of downhole pumps, perforations wash out, tubing dewaxing, special well completion (rotating downhole pumps, assembly of subsurface pressure gauges, bridge plug setting), repairs of water disposal wells, and cementing operations in wells.
• Special workover operations – insulation of casing string leakage, repairs of leaking wellheads, including a complete reconstruction of wellheads.
• General workover operations – insulation of depleted sands, opening of new and high-pressure horizons, well acidizing, hydraulic fracturing, special well completion (packer assemblies, down hole safety valves, etc), and production tests.
• Completion of gas-injection wells for underground gas storages, including milling of casings, interval under reaming, gravel packing and final well completion with gas tight tubing with gas tight packer assembly.
• Plugging and abandonment of wells, reabandonment of old, earlier abandoned wells not complying with requirements for safe mining of other minerals (lignite), and landscaping.
• Long-term production tests, including gas flaring.

Plug & abandon operations

MND Drilling & Services a.s. performs plug&abandon operations and provides liquidation of various relicts of exploratory and production activities remaining till now.

Well Logging and Perforation services

Production Logging (PLT)

Our corporation provides technical support by means of a logging vehicle fully equipped for works in wells in terrain. Well Logging involves geophysical survey in cased wells for production and storage of gas and liquids. Selected methods, their suitable combination and specification provide valuable information. On its base is used to performance of the well, or horizon, for the production and injection.

Other methods, involved in logging, are used for inspection of cased and completed wells, mainly in gas storages. Using these techniques, it is possible to evaluate the quality of casing, gas well tubing, gravel pack assembly, and other components of the well equipment.

The well logging methods are based on measuring of physical and electrical quantities and on procedures for nuclear measuring. Individual methods are used for definition of well profile lithology, determination of clay content in sediment rocks, evaluation of the porosity and liquid level in wells, determination of gas saturated reservoirs, evaluation of thermal characteristic of liquids, position finding of rocks, permeability and determination their part in the total open-flow potential.

Well Logging is suitable for solving of various problems resulting from operation of gas and liquid production wells, for regular inspections of injection-production wells in gas storages and for exploration geology.

Perforation services

Our company provides perforation services – small range blasting well service, based on permission issued by the District Mining Authority in Brno.

The main activities are production, services and repairs of technological plant and tools used for drilling and technological plant for oil and gas exploitation:
